Roles and Responsibilities
- Providing support to two Lawyers
- Working closely with the Lawyers completing Residential Real Estate transactions from beginning to end
- Managing purchase, sale and refinancing files
- Coordinating the receipt of closing documents and funds, registration of documents and reporting
- Preparing correspondence and liaising with other lawyers, financial institutions, broker and lenders
- Keeping in regular communication with clients by telephone and through email
- Assisting with other responsibilities as needed

Roles and Responsibilities of this Opportunity Include:
- Lead and manage real estate transactions from inception to completion, including purchases, sales and refinance transactions;
- Draft, review, and negotiate various real estate documents such as purchase and sale agreements and financing documents;
- Oversee and conduct due diligence investigations, including title searches, PPSA searches;
- Provide legal advice to residential builder clients regarding property rights;
- Assist builder clients with subdivisions, site plans, part lot control exemption by-laws, grant utility easements and townhouse parcelizations;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and third parties including real estate brokers and mortgage brokers;
- Assist clients with estate planning and administration; and
- Collaborate with business owner clients and their other advisors to help them to achieve their goals.
Hard Skills Required or Preferred for this Opportunity Include:
- Familiarity with Teraview;
- Familiarity and drafting experience with respect to common OREA forms;
- Familiarity and drafting experience with respect to common estate planning materials such as wills and power of attorney documents;
- Working knowledge of Unity, Clio and QuickBooks; and
- Working knowledge of Corporate Law and business structures (i.e. incorporations, amendments, amalgamations, etc.).
